    Ingredients

These strawberry popsicles have just one essential ingredient. Strawberries. If they are ripe and sweet that's all that's necessary for great-tasting popsicles.

If your strawberries aren't the best and need a little help you can add a little sweetener to perk them up and enhance the strawberry flavour.

    Optional Flavourings

Feel free to add some extra flavourings to take your Strawberry Popsicles up a notch. Some additions that I enjoy:

    • a small handful of fresh mint or basil
    • the juice of a lime
    • a drop of vanilla extract
    • a couple of pinches of freshly ground black pepper
    • a drop of good-quality balsamic vinegar
    • a dollop of dairy-free yogurt or coconut cream

How To Make Homemade Strawberry Popsicles

Strawberry Popsicles are made in just a few easy steps:

how to make strawberry popsicles step by step
    1. Blend up the strawberries and any optional flavourings.
    2. Pour the mixture into a popsicle mold.
    3. Secure the tops and freeze.
    4. Once frozen carefully remove your homemade popsicles from the molds and enjoy.

    My Favourite Popsicle Mold

I use an Onyx popsicle mold and love it. Although they are a little pricey as far as popsicle molds go, they will last a lifetime so are much more environmentally friendly than plastic ones.

    Recipe FAQs

How do I make homemade popsicles without popsicle molds?

If you don't own a popsicle mold, now is a great time of year to invest in one, or just pick up some wooden popsicle or lolly pop sticks and use disposable cups as molds.

How do I remove popsicles from the mold?

Remove from the freezer and leave the popsicles on the kitchen counter for a couple of minutes. Or immediately run under warm water for about 10 seconds. They should slip right out.

What can I use instead of fresh strawberries?

Juicy berries like raspberries, cherries, or blackberries work well, or other soft and juicy fruits such as peaches, nectarines, and mangos.

    Can I use frozen strawberries?

Yes. Allow them to defrost then continue with the recipe. Frozen strawberries don't have as much flavour as fresh strawberries though so bear that in mind. Adding the optional sugar would be a good idea.

Super delicious. I subbed the maple w/ some simple syrup since I didn't want any maple flavor. So glad the mint didn't come across as overpowering or toothpaste-y lol. Thanks for the great recipe!
