The simplest of recipes...Pear Oatmeal… with a scattering of chocolate chips and flaked almonds, because they are the perfect partners. A drizzle of drippy almond butter would be wonderful too!
You might notice that I use more liquid than most in this oatmeal recipe. That's because I prefer to cook it for a few minutes longer for the softest, creamiest oats. The extra milk or water enables this to happen without it getting way too thick.

Easy Pear Oatmeal
Author:Ingredients
- ½ cup (50 grams) rolled or old-fashioned oats
- 1½ cups (360 mls) water or dairy-free milk
- 1 tablespoon sugar , or maple syrup
- 1 tablespoon almond butter or almond flour/meal
- 1 small pinch sea salt
- 1 medium pear , cored & diced (no need to peel unless you want to)
To serve
- flaked almonds
- chocolate chips or chunks
- almond butter , or any other nut or seed butter
INSTRUCTIONS
- Add everything except about ¼ of the pear (reserve that for serving) to a small saucepan.
- Cook slowly over medium-low heat until thick and creamy. Stir frequently.
- Serve in a bowl with the reserved raw pear and toppings of choice.
