Connecting with my readers and brands that align with A Virtual Vegan is something I love, so thank you so much for all of your emails, comments and messages.
I thought it might be useful to put together a FAQ page, sharing the questions that I get asked most frequently about A Virtual Vegan. I will add to it as new frequently asked questions arise.
Please note that for recipe-specific questions, you can see previous reader's questions and my replies, in the comments under each recipe.
WHO HOSTS YOUR WEBSITE?
Who you choose to host your website matters. Your hosting company can’t make you successful, of course, but it can really hold you back. I host A Virtual Vegan with Agathon and have done for a few years now. Their servers are built and optimized for WordPress with a focus on speed and performance. They have the ability to handle large volumes of traffic as well as sudden, unexpected surges that happen when a recipe suddenly goes viral, and they truly understand food blogs and how they work. And on top of that, they’re friendly and helpful. I always feel like they’re truly invested in my success. Check Agathon out today! <affiliate link>
CAN I SHARE YOUR RECIPE OR IMAGE ON MY WEBSITE OR BLOG?
I do not allow republication/syndication of my recipes. You are welcome to share one photograph only as long as you include credit to A Virtual Vegan and include two links, one back to the recipe post and one back to avirtualvegan.com. Please note though that A Virtual Vegan reserves the right to ask you to remove any photos/links at our sole discretion.
Using a photograph without credit and links as described, or re-publishing the recipe in its entirety is strictly forbidden and constitutes copyright infringement.
If you created a recipe that was inspired by a recipe on my site, please credit A Virtual Vegan with a link back to the original recipe post and refrain from using any of my images in your post.
All materials appearing on this site, including the images, text and recipes are the sole property of A Virtual Vegan, Copyright © 2021, ALL RIGHTS RESERVED. Unauthorized use may violate copyright, trademark and other applicable laws and could result in criminal or civil penalties.
CAN WE SHARE YOUR RECIPE OR IMAGE IN OUR MAGAZINE/PUBLICATION?
If you are interested in sharing one of my recipes in your magazine or publication, please email me at email@example.com to discuss. Whether I allow it depends on what recipe it is, how the recipe is being shared and in what publication. Please do not print my images or recipes without my express permission.
CAN I USE ONE OF YOUR IMAGES FOR COMMERCIAL USAGE?
I do not often allow my images to be used commercially, but if there is one you are interested in using please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org to discuss. We may be able to come to an agreement on licensing.
CAN I REQUEST A RECIPE?
Yes! I love this. It saves me from coming up with all the ideas! If it's a good fit for my style and one that other people are likely to be searching for then I will add it to my list and give it a try at some point. Mail me at email@example.com or message me on social media.
I HAVE A QUESTION ABOUT FOOD BLOGGING OR NEED HELP WITH MY BLOG. CAN YOU HELP OR GIVE ME TIPS?
I love what I do, but I'm really busy keeping my blog up and running and receive far too many messages from people asking for help, to be able to respond to them all. There are lots of online resources available though. I highly recommend checking out Food Blogger Pro and their podcasts as a first stop!
WHY DO COMMENTS ON RECIPES HAVE TO BE APPROVED?
I love reading and responding to your comments and feedback about my recipes. We approve them for a couple of reasons. Firstly, to stop spam comments. I use an anti-spam filter but some still get through and I don't want them cluttering up the useful comments.
Secondly, we do approve comments on recipes whether they contain good or bad feedback, but if they are rude, offensive or just generally inappropriate, we do delete them. I want this to be a positive place to be and manners cost nothing.
DO YOU WORK ON SPONSORED POSTS/CAMPAIGNS WITH BRANDS?
Yes, I do work with brands on sponsored posts. If you think your brand would be a good fit for A Virtual Vegan, please see my Work With Me page.
CAN WE SEND YOU SAMPLES OR FREE PRODUCT TO REVIEW?
I am happy to try your samples/products and if I love them there is a chance I will share them in my Instagram stories, but I do not guarantee a mention unless we agree to terms prior to the product being shipped. I don't do product reviews on the A Virtual Vegan website. For ways in which I work with brands see my Work With Me page.
CAN WE ADVERTISE ON YOUR WEBSITE?
I do not accept unsolicited requests for advertising on my site. Adthrive handles the management of all advertising on A Virtual Vegan.
WHY DO YOU HAVE ADS ON YOUR SITE?
Running A Virtual Vegan is my full-time job. I provide quality content and well-tested recipes to my audience completely free and the ads and occasional sponsored content provide me with an income and cover my expenses.
CAN I WRITE A GUEST POST ON A VIRTUAL VEGAN?
I do not accept guest posts on A Virtual Vegan and I will not share infographics.
CAN YOU ADD A LINK TO OUR PRODUCT OR WEBSITE IN AN EXISTING POST?
I will not add links to products or websites, or use your infographic in existing posts and I will not use "do-follow" links. All links to brands I work with on this site are "no-follow" as per FTC guidelines.
DO YOU HOST GIVEAWAYS ON A VIRTUAL VEGAN OR ON YOUR SOCIAL MEDIA?
Due to the difficulties in satisfying all of the different giveaway rules and regulations, I have decided I will no longer host giveaways on my website or social media.
CAN I EMAIL YOU?
Yes of course you can email me. My email address is firstname.lastname@example.org. I will do my best to answer!
