Ingredients
- 2 cups (180 grams) rolled oats , or quick oats
- ⅓ cup (85 grams) natural peanut butter , with NO additives (important - see recipe notes)
- 1 medium banana , make sure it is very ripe (7-8 inches long)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175°C) (not fan/convection)
- Add oats to a food processor and process until a flour like consistency.
- Add the peanut butter and banana.
- Process until a dough ball starts to form. Add a drop or two of water if it wont come together but only enough to make a firm dough.
- Turn out onto a clean surface and roll out with a rolling pin to about 3 mm thick.
- Cut into shapes with a cookie cutter and place on a baking tray. Line it with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat if it has a tendency to stick.
- Place in oven and bake for about 25 minutes. They need to be really dry and hard. Watch them carefully near the end to be sure the bottoms don't get too dark. If using a dark/black baking tray they will be ready a few minutes sooner.
- Leave to cool on the tray.

Notes
Store in an airtight container for up to 3 months or freeze for up to 6 months.
IMPORTANT NOTE RE PEANUT BUTTER - I recommend using good quality natural peanut butter with only one ingredient (peanuts) when baking for your dogs. Many peanut butters contain xylitol, which goes by lots of different names, so can be hard to spot in ingredients lists. Xylitol is deadly to dogs in very small amounts.
If you think your dog has accidentally consumed something containing xylitol, take them to a veterinarian immediately.
