Simple, quick and easy Apple Oatmeal. Healthy, high in fibre, cozy for chilly mornings, and ready in 10 minutes. You don't even need to peel or chop the apple!

Ingredients
1mediumapple
½ cup (50grams)rolled or old-fashioned oats
1½ cups (360ml)water, or dairy-free milk
1tablespoonbrown sugar
½teaspoonground cinnamon, or ginger (or both)
1pinch fine sea salt
½teaspoonvanilla extract
INSTRUCTIONS
Using a box grater, grate the apple into a small saucepan. Don't peel it.
Add everything else (except the vanilla) to the pan and place over medium-low heat. Cook until thick and creamy. Stir frequently.
Add the vanilla and stir it in once the oatmeal has been removed from the heat to preserve the flavour.
Serve with toppings of choice such as a sprinkle of brown sugar or a drizzle of maple syrup, walnuts, pecans, nut or seed butter, blueberries or blackberries.
